The Rooibos Heritage Route: Dust, heat, gates and warm hearts

IMG 2013.JPG

The Rooibos Heritage Route links two unique rooibos production areas: Finest Rooibos Tea is produced here between Wupperthal (Western Cape) and Nieuwoudtville (Northern Cape).

The landscape changes with the season, from very dry and harsh summer which is the time for Rooibos harvesting, to cold and wet winters, followed by a magical display of spring flowers.

The variety of the seasons reflect the variety of experiences you can have along the route: experiencing local culture, looking for veldkos, sleeping under the stars, being enthralled by rock art...

The Rooibos Heritage Route is not a self drive route. Most people along the route are also farmers with busy lives. As such we would like to ask you to repsectfully book in advance (either via the booking agent or direct).

Enjoy Rooibos Heritage Route - and we whish that in its tranquility and sincerity you can reconnect with yourself.

Travelling along the Rooibos Heritage Route allowed me to experience local culture and natural beauty!
